What's up guys, i have a 5th gen that has had part of the rear section of the exhaust piping and the muffler replaced for an aftermarket one a little over a year ago.
The muffler rusted from inside out, around it and all... till rust separated it from the piping.

I have a fairly new Tanabe Hyper Medallion that is my joy and pride storaged in the attic at my parents house. Is the piping and the "muffler" on those, strong enough against rust. I'm afraid of what rust could do to it.
Any input on this? Anyone?

They are constructed using SUS304 stainless so it should hold up better than an aluminized mild steel.

 

yea im running a magnaflow wide-open with T304 piping all the way back. The only thing not T304 is the cat...

 

That's great to hear man, thank you so much for the reply. Thanks for the replies guys, i feel a lot more confortable to install the exhaust now. I guess i will run it for a few months till i can spare money for something OEMish.
