What Kind of injectors to get?
Hey everyone I have a question about injectors, As of right now I have DSM 450's with the resistor box off a DA. Question is 1. What size Injectors should I get for up to 400hp on E85 fuel 2. What kind of injectors would clip right up to the injector plugs I have now (so I dont have to put new clips on).
Those 450's wont cut it for e85. You might as well get 1000cc injectors from the start so your not buying another set later on when you want to up the boost.
Look into Injector Dynamics (ID) and fuel injector clinic (FIC)....you dont need a resistor box with those.

yep, you want the pencil style bosch injectors. best injectors on the market, much easier to tune, perfect idle and whatnot. I echo the post above, ID or FIC if you can afford them. I have ID 1000 cc on my SI and it idles like the stock 333 cc injectors do
Can you guys post a link to a good place to buy these from?
I'm guessing this is them? http://www.clubrsx.com/cr/IJD-B1000S.html

Hey thanks for that, but I actually am on my way right now to pick up some 750cc RC injectors for $220 and theres only 1k on them and its the same guy thats going to tune the car and he says they would be good for my setup, Givin theres not going to be 400whp now, but after watching some you-tube videos I think 400whp in FWD car is a bit of over kill.....PLUS I dont make enough money to be buying tires once a month if you know what I mean
I had 450cc dsm and made 250whp on 5psi with E85 and i had never hit fuel cut even when I turned it up to 8psi which considering I made 20hp/psi for the first 5psi I prolly made just under 300whp with 450's
it's because the math isn't right.
sizing injectors is one of the most simple things in the world to do and yet we have threads all the time about it.

here's the calculator, do the math for your given hp goal
450cc injectors are at a 100% duty cycle at 300 crank hp on normal gas

that calculator is doing pump gas equations though isnt it?
with a .60 BSFC like it says to change in the chart, @ 381 flywheel horsepower its right at 750cc. adding 15% drivetrain power loss thats gonna be right around 330whp.. on pump then? So E85 would be even lower.

the more power you make, the more power you lose. Thats how it is. Hondas have a 15% parasitic drivetrain power loss. accept it, and also accept that 750cc injectors on E85 is going to get you nowhere near 400whp.
I was like you before, and thought 300-350 was fine, now im shooting for 500, this is why I overbuilt my setup with a strong clutch, forged bottom end, and big *** injectors. :D

i have a quick ?.... i plan on getting around 275-300+ hp with 15psi... but for now im going to run just 8psi on PREMIUM FUEL only... would 750cc saturated injectors be good enough? thanks!

you can go up to 476hp if you run a 100% duty cycle on those same 750s which is what some of you guys do...it's dangerous though and would have a high chance of failing road racing. the only reason they live is that they probably don't see anything more than street or 1/4 mile passes so they are only maxed out briefly.
still, buy the right size and aim for 80-85% duty, easy cheesey
381 crank hp and 750cc's is dead on for an 80% duty cycle.

I work for my money so i value my car and everything ive put into it! I also am limited as to how much I spend and I would rather use the majority of the money I have set aside for the tune for that simply is the most important element.
Plus: Some of yall need to chill a little bit, trying to be all mr/mrs know it all and what not. were all here for the same reason, to become more educated get idea's and share a common intrest...
