1989 Honda CRX DX auto to manual conversion
Hey H-T,
I have a 89 CRX DX with a sohc ZC motor that's automatic. I want to do a 5 speed conversion but I don't know what I need.
I have a 5 speed transmission with shift linkage and the other bar(i forgot what its called) on it. and also a DX 5 speed ecu.
I've read online that im going to need the pedal assembly, but do I have to get it off of another dx or can i get a hf or si one?
also i know im going to need a gauge cluster, clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate. What else do I need? Is there a write up? I've searched but I've got some bogus threads not even about the conversion.
THanks!

Please search this is covered quite often.
What are you using as search terms? I do think the FAQ has a write up on this still.
I would advise against a STD(cx)/HF pedal set as they are thinner and weaker. A few members myself included have snapped them.
You do not really need the gauge cluster, if money is tight or you plan on running an aftermarket tachometer.

I know there's a CRX DX from the junk yard that is manual. So would that be perfect for the pedals? I'm thinking to just get a d16z6 swap and throw it in all at once.
Motor and tranny from pick n pull is about 400 something out the door.
Yeah money is tight but I'm waiting on my tax return to get about 400-500 to spend on a new motor....
