rhd manual rack
Does anyone know where or how I can get ahold of a rhd ef manual steering rack. Im aware i can just loop the power rack iv got...but I'd prefer to have the factory manual rack.
I will call some budies and find out if they can find one for you if you want but shipping from the UK might be a bit spendy unless I can get a buddy to ship it from the local airbase.
I'm hoping to track one down at some point as well. I've got an EF8 and I need to loop my p/s or go manual rack altogether since I plan on running an F2B. Best bet would be to get a hold of a JDM parts exporter right in Japan, there are a few.
I know that they can likely still source one new from Honda of Japan, about 2 years ago user reynardmauricio got one for his CR-X build through one of his connections, build thread here :

If I remember well, it uses all of the tie rods etc as a USDM EF with manual steering would, he posted all the part numbers.

I've gotten parts for my CR-X through them, the EF8/EF9 outer tie rods don't have a matching part in North America, another reason running a manual rack is better. Good luck on finding one and shoot me a pm if you do manage to get a hold of one, I'd like to know the details. I know they aren't the most common, even most base model EFs had p/s in Japan, I've only seen one so far that didn't. Maybe the cost and availability would be better in the UK as well which has me wondering.

If the p/s racks numbers match for DA and EF, then that's another clue to the manual rack, not to limit the search to EF part #s. Another tip, in the Honda parts listings, sometimes illustrations will all be the same regardless of model. In the event the illustration in Honda's part catalogue for EFs is one of a p/s rack, anyone who doesn't know any better will think the manual rack is non-existant.
What we need to do is track down an actual RHD EF with manual steering and get the VIN, once you have the VIN you can get that to your contact who can get the part looked up by an actual Honda parts clerk in Japan.
I know it's a three month old thread but I figured I'd bump it with new info in case anyone ever stumbled upon while using the search function.
The manual steering rack part number for a RHD EF is the following:
53040-SH3-N11
The rear cross member which is specific to that manual steering rack is this number:
50200-SH3-N52
Not sure if the cross member is needed or not, I'd like to get the rack at some point and I'll elaborate a bit more on that in this thread whenever that happens.
