Excessive fuel consumption???
Today I noticed that my civic used about 1/4 of fuel for driving a little bit around town and it kinda worried me because IT NEVER DID THAT before. Prior to this, I adjusted/tighten both the gas and clutch pedals, but the gas pedal still has some free play so its not like its always pulled leading to excessive revving and more usage of gas. Also, now that I did those 2 things, I feel the car shakes more sitting at idle, it shakes kinda like when u'r letting off the clutch without pushing on the gas pedal, sorta like its gonna turn off on you. Would either of these two things affect the gas consumption? Soon Imma replace the fuel filter in case that might be the problem, but in case it aint, any suggestions?
Could also be a bad fill-up.
I track all of my fill-ups with an Android application called "Mileage" (orange icon). It's very useful and helps me track the gas stations that sell crappy gas. You'll be amazed at the increase in mileage you can get from higher quality gas.
If the fuel needle continues giving you the finger (not caused by a tight right turn), get in touch with Rich (cruzinperformance.com). Your injectors might need servicing. He does excellent work, I've had several sets of injectors done by him and you will most likely notice a nice (5-10% at least) increase in mileage. Don't forget the fuel filter.
Good luck,

What are CELS? And from what I remember, I've never done anything to the engine but replace the spark plugs and clean the air filter every-now-and-then
Thanks for the info, but I checked out cruzinperformance.com and its in michigan and I'm in cali, but thanks anyways. I'll still check the fuel injectors though.

There are also DIY ways to clean the injectors by yourself by connecting one at a time to a battery and running a cleaning product through them. Google/YouTube around and you'll see. It's nothing compared to Rich's service, though.
