Does it matter how long the dump tube on your wastegate is?

I may have sourced an z3 style left fender for $15 and was thinking of cutting a hole in the chassis for the dump tube and having it come out the vent in the fender, it would be as straight as possible but if the tube is like 4' long like ive measured would that affect the response of the wastegate?

 

it can be what ever size you want as long as tha gases coming out of it dont end up in the engine bay.

 

And I have found the longer the dumptube length, the louder the wastegate sound. I haven't tested it out to 4', but up to 2' it is louder as you go longer. Just info. for your consideration.

darkvader0 have you tested various length dumps on the same vehicle? Im surprised the length would make a difference in volume.

My dump tube is about 24" and dumps behind the trans by the pass CV.
