So I picked up the eg sedan a few weeks ago with a blown headgasket and needing a windshield. I plan dor it to be my d/d but once I sell my lexus and get a cr-v i will then turbo the spare z6 I have sitting. Plans for this build are:
-suspension upgrade
-Mini Me swap
-rear disc brakes ( later)
-CAI
-Lip kit
-tint (after inspection)
-rear window spoiler
-Wheels and tires
-Entertainment...i.e. sub, flip out dvd player
-alarm
-misc. things also that will pop up here n there.
Day 1 2/1/2011

Day 2 2/10/2011
Fixing the head gasket

Already cleaned up the block surface...
2/15/2011
Head going to the machine shop today finally

A package for me when I got home.
Lowtek struts, awaiting k sport lowering springs.

Quick question. Would oem tophats work with oem style struts? I've normally delt with strut mounts so im assuming theyre technically the same.

Yes, you can use OEM tophats.
Those struts will be a downgrade from OEM though, especially with any drop in ride height. Lotek is another division of Drop Zone and we all know how those products last.

I looked into the racing threads and found a guy that ran them with some other springs so I figured I'd give them a try. We'll see how they hold out. Thanks for the info.

So I got it running without everything installed....just a test run. Its idleing above 3k. The throttle cable is off, coolant is not topped off, v-tec is not wired in yet, and some other things off. 1 being also the valve cover ground. I will update once I get everything buttoned up.

Update:
Got the car running. The idle issue was because of the intake not being tight enough. So I took the gasket off and after going home to get new mail, I threw the new obx thermal intake gasket on.
Also the exhaust is next on the list. It also came in today. Pics soon.
