Default lobes on intake and exhuast?

ok now lm almost positive about this but wanna make sure. ive seen a few different ways but both on dohc. ok so with arrows at tdc for #1 should both intake and exhuast valves be pushed down by lobes? or just one either intake and exhuast and other not pushed down? because with both my arrows pointing up at tdc intake #3 valves are open (pressed down by lobes) and #2 exhaust valves are open(pressed down by lobes) is this correct?

and to check valve lash both intake and exhuast side on that particular cylinder need to be pressed down to check right?

To check lash you want the valves to be closed, so you do not want the lobes to connect. I recommend getting the helms manual if you dont already have it. They are free online.
