Code 16. My hatch wont start.
Hey guys. I have an 88 civic std hatch bone stock. Recently the main relay went. So i bought a brand spankin new one. When i plugged it in it started buzzing on and off. Then after i turn it over it stops buzzing but still wont turn on. I just get a code 16 on the ecu. It started fine before and drove like a champ so idk wut it could be. Any help would be great. thanks
go get a used main relay from the junk yard. get a couple of them off of any obd0 honda/acura. The code 16 is a "fuel injector" related code. It happened to me to my crx. I changed the main relay and now it works fine.
Well i bought a new one out the box. I also used a new one my got for his acura along with a like 2 spare ones we had and it still dose the same thing every time.
Well I checked out the resistor box and it's gone. I think someone stole it, but I can't find the plug for it. Can anyone tell me where the plug comes out from. Thanks

Check and clean your grounds make sure the v/c ground that 1 is on the gromet and the other 1 right under it where that nut is at. In other words make sure that those 2 arent together.
Oh so I don't even have one. I feel like a foo. Anyway I checked all the grounds and there fine. I'm gana check the fuses and what nots tomorrow.
Well I checked all the fuzes and there all fine. But there a buzzing coming from the intake manifold. I think it's the injector but I'm not sure. It's a brown plug, is that the plug for the injector?

Do you hear your fuel pump priming when you turn the key to ON before starting it?
When you turn the car to the ON position, the CEL will come on, you'll hear the fuel pump prime and then the CEL goes off. Does that happen?
The main relay really shouldn't buzz at all. The buzzing from under the hood is probably the IACV located on the back of the Intake Manifold. Had an issues with a buddies once before, unplugged and replugged it back in and it started fine.

Well the fuel pump turns on and off along with the buzzing of the relay and what ever is buzzing under the hood. I disconnected iacv and it still buzzed. I also replaced the injectors with fresh ones cuz the old ones looked pretty shot. I also noticed The sensor next to the MAP sensor is clicking along with the rhythm of the buzzing sound. I'm going to replace the iacv anyway just to clear any doubt.
Ok I replaced the throttle body, the IACV, ecu and the map with the other sensor next to it. I also checked all the grounds and they seem fine but I'm going to replace them to also clear up that doubt. But Im still having the same problem. I did notice that buzzing sound stops when I disconnect the top injector. So I used the old injector and it was the injector buzzing in the throttle body. But I still don't know what to do
Change the injector that is connected to the brown plug which i believe is your primary injector. You should also check the voltage going to that injector with a T-pin with the connector still connected. The circuit should bounce voltage while cranking when the injector opens and closes.
Ive already changed the injector. And the ecu and the hole throttle body ecs....... But it still dose it.I'm gana c wut resistance on the plug tomorrow
Im having issues with this injector as well... Mine wont throw a code until i unplug the top injector. I can only crank and drive mine with the top injector unplugged or else the motor is flooding. Does this injector have a constant 12v or is it supposed to pulse? I may need to try to replace that injector on mine but have a hard time shelling 160$ for it!!!

the injector and fuel pump follow that same pulse, and it dose not give out any codes.
i think it could be a short in the wiring.
