I have heard great things about them, but no one in my area can get them and I don't know where to find them. Anyone no how much they run for a JDM style for a 90 crx. Do they come clear coated and has anyone bought one online(where if so). Thanks for any help.

 

I too am in the market for a JDM style CF hood for my '90 Civic. I am over by Lakeside mall. Maybe we can get into a GB or something. I know Specmo in Royal Oak is an authorized FI dealer.

look on there web site, they list there dist.'s, I have a cf form FI and it is great they do come with a clear coat and it is shinny as hell, they are strong and light, they also fit very well... I live in oregon and i know that speed concept up here is a dist. for them and i picked mine up in stock for 400.00 i would only get an FI CF hood you will be kicking your self in the butt if you get any diffrent.they have a very nice tight weave and a smooth finish ihave look at others and they look cheap. i did my research befor I made this purchse..you will like it.

where are you guys getting the 400 dollars from. I checked with a couple online companies and they are like 600 w/o clear coat.

Which site was it that had the vid of a car driving over their cf hood? that was crazy... also had guy jumping up and down on it. Was still in good condition after that... with the exception of a few scratches

I have a Fiber Images hood on my car as well as my friends turbo Si. His hood is the best ive ever seen on a honda in person, mine wasnt as good since it was one of the first ones they made for my car but i got an incredible deal on it. Everyone gives him compliments about the hood as well.

I have a Fiber Images hood that i bought from a distributor of theirs... and right when i got it i noticed a fuckup in the weave... right in the middle of the hood... i am STILL trying to get it replaced, 6 months later!

 

my friend has a fiber images hood on his 2001 accord coupe.. it fits like total ****.. can see into the engine bay on the sides and doesnt come clean with the front bumper.. so i personally would not suggest them.. maybe more popular cars are made with more care or something but his the only experience ive had with one and fits like poo..i also dont like the free advertising of the fiber images logo embedded in the middle of the top of the hood..

 

I Once had a Versus CF hood, and it was pretty good quality actually, the only hood i seen that was betetr was a Fiber Images Hood, they are both nice...

Damn, that sucks. Which distributor was that? Are you dealing with them, or directly with FI?

 

so you're saying you won't have any logos of any kind displayed on your car? no , no wheel or tire names, nothing like that?

IMHO Fiber Images is one of the best hoods for the money. They do not use a full fiberglass frame on the underside, but rather only around the outer edge, so it is extremely light. Sometimes you will get a FI hood that doesn't fit great, but usually they fit pretty well. I would recommend them, especially from a pure functional standpoint.
