Spring Time EF Meet n Movie Cruise - March 12, 2011

It's been a long while since the last successful EF meet. With winter winding down it's time to wake up the EF enthusiast community with a meet n movie cruise!

When - Saturday March 12, 2011 @ 1:30PM - 3:30PM

Where - 10930 West Sam Houston Pky N (on the corner of Fallbrook and BW8) Houston, TX 77064

3:30PM - Roll Out To the Showboat!
We roll out and head out to The Showboat Drive-in Theater. We will be riding the Beltway so BRING A DOLLAR FOR THE TOLLWAY We're doing this to help keep everyone together on the way to the drive-in. We will start lining up at 3:15 and roll out at 3:30 SHARP!

Opening Feature will be BATTLE: LOS ANGELES


The second feature has yet to be announced.

Admission is only $5 for 2 movies!

We're going to get there REALLY EARLY to ensure that we get the best spots and be the first ones in line.

We should arrive early enough for us to get a good parking spot up front, give us all time to get some eats. (please DO NOT RACE on the way there....it's not worth going to jail for or worse)
If you can't make it to the parking lot meet for whatever reason then feel free to meet up at the drive in. This place gets packed fast and with Spring and Summer vacations coming up it's only going to get busier. When the gates open at the drive in there is usually a good hour or two to mingle and enjoy the cars and the sunset.

If any of you have never been to a drive in movie, you don't know what you're missing! Bring your SO, bring your kids.....or just bring yourself. Feel free to bring your boom boxes, lawn chairs and kids if you have any.

As with any car meet, please use common sense and courtesy. BRING CASH. They have an ATM at the drive in but there is a fee to use it. We'll fuel up before we head out too.

Rules for the meet:
1. No Alcohol *None Whats So Ever*
2. No Revving Your Engines
3. Keep Music At A Respectable Level
4. Watch Your Speed Entering And Exiting Parking Lots
5. Throw Your Trash In The Trash Can (Do not leave litter in the parking lot)
6. No Street Racing At Or Around The Meets
7. No Burn/Peel Outs
8. No Speeding In The Parking Lot
9. Don't be shy...it's a meet..so MINGLE!

Please support the drive in by buying the food and beverages (they're pretty cheap anyways). Come out and have a good time with fellow car enthusiasts!

I advise you to bring:

1. A Car that has a radio (if you don't have one, bring a boom box or a walkman). The drive in uses an FM transmitter to send the soundmix directly to your sound system.

2. A Car With a working heater....or bring a blanket because it can get chilly at night.

This is gonna be a straight up old skool style meet so to jumpstart the EF community we're keeping it simple. No BBQ, no DJ. Just people, cars and chillin. Bring your camera, your friends, family and some lawn chairs. If you like to eat bring your own food and drinks and be sure to be fueled up because we will not be making any stops on our way to the theater.

We're gonna reserve the BBQ/DJ for the Summer Meet (which is also in the works).

Might not make it now either. Wife had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled. We'll see how she's doing in the morning as to whether or not I'm comfortable leaving her here.

Did get my moldings (minus rear) painted in prep for this weekend though

 

Hope she feels better. My wife is very sick at the moment. I plan on showing up for some pictures but probably won't go to the movie.

 

Not gonna be able to make it Gonna take some time to freshen up my moldings, change the oil, and a few other things.
