I hope I'm not derailing this thread, but do these pumps have daily-driver reliability? Why do these pumps look so different than what a Zo6 uses? Are they the same type of pump?
ive had mine on my car for about 5 years now i dont daily drive it but it did and still does see alot of street time and long journey 1-2 hours in traffic no problemo
They look different mostly because these are retrofits, so they are belt driven from the crank. That pump is a direct drive, and a different kind of pump. What you see in that pictures is a straight cut gear pump and there are helical gear pumps. They are all positive displacement pumps but each have different benefits.
That and the aftermarket pumps have tighter clearances internally. The OEM pumps are designed to last for a long time, aftermarket pumps are designed for performance without 100k miles in mind.
every few years some one post about their dry sump but never any detailed information or photos.... what gives!!! please share more!!
i just looked at the moroso they have part #'s listed but most photos (or the pump setup) are dead links. arrg.

that doesn't quite make sense to me. what does tighter clearances achieve? higher pressure? clearances might be tight but it's not really touching right? plus it is filled with oil how can there be much wear? if at all... enlighten me.
welp, i decided to call Moroso and see if they have the setup in stock. they have everything available, BUT the reverse rotation pump itself. part # 25630* ... so you'd have to track down a used one. or flip one of their available pumps.
