hey fellas well my ek capet was covered with lots of goo and dog hair when i bought my car so i put gloves on and cut it out...well now i found a red eg hatch/coupe carpet for 80 buck and wanna find out it would work on my ek hatch...please help before it sells thanks

 

Probably not. You should check part numbers to see if they match.

 

It won't work. There are some aftermarket auto carpet manufacturers that sell carpeting for about $200.

 

im pretty sure the parts numbers are different but trying to see if its really different or just a little off

Ebay has "custom" molded carpet in red for like 120 shipped I think for "EKs"

 

they never fit 100% like oem, your best bet is to hit up a junk yard, grab a carpet, shampoo it

 

^ I did an 93 coupe a couple weeks back with the cheap stuff...it took some heatgun work and heavy stuff to hold parts down while it set into shape but it came out almost perfect.

Tried what before? Using a carpet designed for one car in another? Or tried an aftermarket carpet?

The reviews on aftermarket carpet are pretty mixed. A lot of them come back in a few months and say the carpet has settled and fits perfect.

 

Hmm Im really interested to hear about the aftermarket carpets from ebay. I also bought an EG with dog hair EVERYWHERE as for the OP i highly doubt EG carpet would work well in an EK.. the carpets are pressed to fit contours of one specific car..
