Default brakes, pedal feel, and upgrades

ok so... my brake pedal could use some tightening up. I drive a DA9. My friend recently bought a '00 DC2 (GSR) and his brakes seem to work 1000x better. I'm also working on a project DA.

Was wondering what the difference is between '00 GSR brakes and DA brakes (90-93 Integra), and what would be involved in doing a brake swap.

Also trying to figure out why my DD DA9 doesn't have good pedal feel or the stopping power of the DC2. Had to replace a caliper two years ago, although I'm sure we bled the system correctly, I'm trying to verify it. Of note is that there appears to be a small leak somewhere in my brake system (on DD), as I have to add brake fluid every few months.

More or less looking to troubleshoot the brake system I guess.

Oh yeah also of note is that on my project I've just done an ABS delete (waiting to reinstall Master Cylinder (MC) and bleed) and my DD is an ABS car.

I just read somewhere (Dan GSR) that the ABS MC is the biggest (1") of Integras. Down lower, post 31, he says all Gen 3 tegs except RS are 1". Is this true for Gen 2 too? (DA) I'm asking because I have an ITR Master Cylinder I intend on installing on my project, but don't know if it's any different from the stock MC...

Will post again if I come up with something else.

CONTRAST AND COMPARE: "DA vs DC FRONT BRAKES"
A. 90-93 integra brake calipers & 94-01 integra brake calipers are both stamped 17CL14VN
B. although they appear similar, there are slight variants between the 2 gens (DA calipers use overhead springs for the pads)
C. they calipers can be interchanged betwen the 2 integras, (ie., DA calipers on DC knuckles or DC calipers on da knuckles)
D. 90-01 INTEGRA all use the same 10.3" front rotor

DA knuckles and DC knuckles are NOT the same

the problem is a different suspension geometry

if you use the 94-01 DC integra knuckles, you'll have severe alignment issues

Always bench bleed the Master cylinder when replacing the master cylinder, ABS unit, or proportioning valve.
leaks are no good for brake systems...
a. introducing air in the system
b. loss of pressure

What are the differences? Can they be considered functionally the same? I.E. should I be getting the same pedal feel and braking performance as a DC2? Are the master cylinders the same size/the biggest size? Is the rest of the braking system different enough to make the difference?

I think this is the answer to your question. Your brakes don't feel like your buddy's GSR because yours are not in 100% working order. A leak that causes fluid loss would definitely give you a poor pedal feel.

I'm about to try it out tonight. Will let you know the verdict.

What about the master cylinder sizes? I've just found out some confusing **** about master cylinders we have an I need to figure out gen 2 and gen 3 integra master cylinder sizes, including the ITR.
