For certain that is a 1991 or EF era? Seems like a newer product line by Pioneer or Japan.
The Carrozerria logo seems to be off to the left just a bit... like maybe it was added later by the previous owner. That would make sense if they upgraded to some of the modern line of Carrozerria products.

Some old guy who lives around here has a 25sx or zx or watever it is and he had the same thing n his car and told me it was an original. Option. They came with some nice peices. And were really xpensive so they are rare! Hold on to it bro unless u wana sell it let me know

oh yes when you remove the plastic you can install 6x9..i think this adaptor is for subwoofers..
