Generic DPFI throttle cable

The throttle cable broked on my 91 DX and obviously no one carries that part around me. Can I use a generic throttle cable somehow? Will it suck badly?

a 91 dx? i have like 4 of those cables in my garage. and what do you mean generic cable? like off a mountain bike or something? lol

i had a few extra got rid of them though, go to the junk yard and buy one they are $6.23

I thought about taking an Avid Speed Dial 7 and some MTB brake cable and driving it like that, I won't lie. But I also looked at this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=536804_0_0_ or mebbe a longer version.

there's plenty of cars at the junkyards in the sfv that carry this particular cable...!!!
