Icon2 S2K starter button mod question...

I traded for '92 civic hb vx today. 1st off it has NO KEYS!!! The ignition switch is busted out n I have to start it with a screw driver... ARGH! Now I'm gonna go to the honda dealer an buy a key so I can atleast lock my doors. I was thinking of doing the s2k starter button mod. Now my question with that is:

Do I still need an ignition switch n key for the s2k starter button to work?

Now I know the car isn't stolen dew to the fact the PO had it reg. n isn.. And I got a bill of sale with there info on it.

As I understand it you can wire it either way. But without a switch and keys? I guess you're asking for it to get stolen.

Maybe one of these will help?

Maybe its just me, but there ain't no way in hell I would buy/sell/trade/borrow/lend a car with NO KEYS. Legitimate or otherwise, I would not touch it.

I'm sure the bill of sale doesn't matter.. But wouldn't the dmv pick up on ther fact if it was stolen when they went to reg. it!?!

I called the state police today. They had no record of the car being stolen. When I went to the dmv to reg. it. They had no record of it being stolen either.. So all is good!!

I guess that's the best you can do as far as diligence. But these things can take time to work through between states. And I'll guess you didn't need the title to register it in Maine.

As far as the ignition switch, how bad is the damage in there? Why not just get a new ignition lock and worry about the start button mod later?
