Default 90-91 sedan dash in 88-89 hatchback?:

I've done cr-x into hatch and etc.. but never sedan into hatch. Is the process identical and do I need to use the brackets etc from the sedan?. And the item that holds the steering column?

thanks.

I would like to know this as well . . . It would be so nice to have something more like a center console . . .

why not just use the 90-91 hatchback dash or use the 90-91 gauge cover on the 88-89 dashboard. makes for a cleaner install and if u just swap gauge covers then u wont have to pull the dashboard. Ive had 4 dashboards in my 89 sedan including one from an 90-91 hatchback. Now Im keeping a 90-91 oem black sedan dashboard

the sedan dashboard is exactly the same as far as center console options are concerned. only the CRX is different

The sedan dash is completely different compared to the hatch. The glove box is bulky and smooth when opening not slamming down when open. The fuse cover/panel under the dash is better and bulky. the vents are sleek and the overall look is sleek.

i've done cr-x into hatch etc but never the sedan in hatch i just wasn't sure what it consisted of.

the only differences besides the gauge pods is the shape of the vents and the fuse panel went bulky on sedans which looks terrible. the glove box is "bulky" because in between layers of plastic is metal so it weighs the front so when the glovebox is opened the little "hydraulic" arm makes the box open slowly.

it depends. the hatch dashboard in my car seemed different. It had a different curvature against the windshield. the hatch dashboard curved more sharply so it left a small gap between the dashboard and the windshield so to reverse that and put sedan into hatch the less sharp curve might not fit right. Idk why the dashboards were curved different I always thought they would have the same basic shape of windshield and everything

I got the sedan one out and it is not going to work as easily as i thought. might work in the hatch/crx? not sure but will be trying soon.

Sorry if this is too off-topic, but instead of trying another civic dash I just ended up dropping in a 94 integra console this week. It was a super quick and easy install -- just one hole to drill on the drivers side front panel of the in-going console . . .

AND NOW I HAVE CUPHOLDERS in my 1991 Si!
