Icon2 Low idle, sputtering,& burning oil HELP!

I just got this crx 2 weeks ago and with all this snow havent gotten a great look at it! i was told dont go over 80 (high rpms) but last night i started hearing the engine knock, tab, sputter not sure the right word but the car shakes!! I was going the most 75 mph and now idle is low low and i sound like a lawn mower, I pulled over and no oil on stick. I put 3 quarts filled to a bit over.. so not sure how that works with it being dry... newho that didnt stop it too much.. now i know about my rex: origanial motor d15(its a hf) but it has a si tranny and no muffler from catalatic converter. supposely everything replaced, and the air intake box is gone... does anyone know what all i shoud check first... im outta town n totally scared i wont make it back home if i keep this way. any other questions u need ask ill try my best!!

well.. start with the basics.

check all fluids. engine oil, gear/tranny oil, brake fluid
check ignition system and replace parts as necessary. new spark plugs, clean dizzy rotor and cap. if not, replace them.
replace/install air and fuel filter.
check fuel level
check charging system. replace battery if necessary. clean all grounding wires using sand paper or wire brush.
check for oil/fuel/fluid leaks

...that's all i can think of right now

sounds to me like u have some ignition problems. you should really check your dizzy, cap and bug also plug wires. are the plug wires old? if the ears in the cap are worn down or the bug is worn it will cause the car to miss and sputter. also sarah if the valve seals are that bad it would be smoking like a train! so start with ignition.

well if u still hear the knock on the engine after adding oil u might of spun a main bearing.. before u start replacing more parts on youre engine and guessing what can it be do a compression test, that should tell you alot on how youre engine is performing. cant be an ignition problem cause you would have trouble keeping the car on at all times.
