Default Civic EG with B18c7 stutters and hesistates when cold or slightly cold

When cold or slightly cold. The car stutters and hesistates on light throttle.
WHen warm it drives and idles perfectly. Even after warmed up and the car is parked for abit. It does the same when you drive again but for much shorter duration.

I have changed leads
Plugs
upper engine cleaner
Cleaned throttle body
CHanged fuel filter
Cleaned MAP sensor too
Checked Timing

I havent changed oxygen or knock sensor. COuld it be one of these?

Just on that note.

Has anyone had a faulty o2 or knock sensor?
What were the symptoms?

what kind of plugs are you running and at what gap. And what modifications. If you run cold racing plugs, there is no way around this I have seen but I get light hesitation. What ecu are you running as well.

on a side-note:And how did you clean your MAP sensor...

Im running standard plugs with factory gap.
Car has no mods.

I took the map sensor off and sprayed it with CRC contact cleaner. Is this the wrong way?

yep. 4.9 volts brother. All good.

I heard dizzy caps and the rotor themselves can play up when worn?

Any CEL codes?

Have you inspected the distributor cap and rotor?

Have you cleaned the IACV, and FITV if the engine has one?

hey ron.

Yep cleaned the IACV really nicely. This engine doesnt have a FITV.

I opened up the dizzy cap and cleaned the connectors with contact cleaner. Didnt sand them. Cleaned the thing that spins around (rotor)?

Cleaned the intake temp sendor that sits on one of the intake manifold runners. That had black goo.

It seemed to fix it. The dizzy cap contact points look white?

I will try to drive again when its cold. Cross my fingers

You may want to gently scrape the corrosion from the contact points inside the distributor cap and lightly sand the contact point on the rotor.

I just went out again and sanded both with very fine sand paper. The rotor looks clean now. half of it had some brown stuff.
The contact points on the cap have this white powdery stuff. I sanded but it didnt all come off?
Should I scrape witha screw driver?

Yes, you can use a small flat head screwdriver to gently scrape off the corrosion.
