Yes there are differences in the body styles. Example there are different headlights, hood, spoiler etc on the JDM Sir. I think that would be a 1.6 Vti model for you guys

The lower end models have black bumpers etc

"I think this is what he is asking?"

if I may, I think what our Icelandic friend is asking is:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
what is the difference in appearance bewteen the following 1996-1999 (european) Civic models?

1.4
1.5
1.6 vti (vtec)
1.8

I am looking for a 1.6 vti, and I am not really familiar with what the differences are appearance-wise.
I made an offer on a 1.4 base model, but it was too low. Good thing too, as those are suck-*** gutless heaps; I want a B16!
Any information appreciated, and sorry for my laboured english, but it is very different from Icelandic.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

in response, I think that he should search the web for european-based Honda sites, such as CRX UK or something of this ilk.

good luck

hmm yeah maybe i didnt tell it in right words.

i am asking what is different between body look of civic from “96 to “99(hood,kit“s,lights,sideskirt) Like 1,4 has diffrent look then 1,5cc or 1,6cc or 1,8cc or ef has not the same hood as vti has and so on..

i knew i should have just start looking for different civic types online and check what body parts would be different between civic types and displacement.

in 1999 civic went through a minor change. Different headlights = different hood, fenders, grill, bumper....

The easiest way to tell the difference is the 96-98 have only one large grill opening...the 99-00s have ducts on either side of the main grill, which rarely is where you see the factory foglights.

The EX and SI models got the sweet half red/ half white tailights...Minor rear bumper change. The interior center console layout changed, stereo wiring harness changed...Im not sure, maybe the interior cloth pattern was different...

I'm not too sure how comparable the SI is to the VTI. The USDM SI has the b16a2, different transmission, different grill, front lip spoiler, different seat cloth pattern, different seats w/ hole through the headrest, the interior illumination is amber, sunroof standard, different gauges...

Does the euro VTI come in a coupe???
VTI HB...drooooool.......

*headache* !!!

anyway, as you probably know "Who" is that this photo of this Civic is european only, USDM dont know anything about it, B18C is unheard of in a stock Civic in the states, unless it“s a hybrid.

I tried to understand what you were talking about concerning the "look" of different civics.

Well, to start off I'll try to explain to you the difference in the looks of the euro spec EK (96-99)
1.4i , 1.4Si and 1.5LSi all share the same interior, and exterior. Alloy wheels dont come stock, and neither does a sunroof. They are all fitted with the same grey raw interior. The mirrors and body panels are unpainted. To look for mpg I'd suggest you go looking at a official honda site.
The 1.6VTi comes with 15" VTi alloy wheel, and it also has rear disc brakes, which the other models dont have. Totally different black interior and seats are more bucket then in the other models. The car comes stock with sunroof, and all mirrors, body panels are painted.

The look on the EK was changed in 1998. The headlights became a bit smaller, instead of the big more rounder headlights that the EK had from 96-98. The front was changed also, a totally different lip and slots for fog lights were made.
The rear also changed, a slightly different bumper, and the rear lights didnt have orange turn signals anymore.

Kato explained this pretty well, our euro 1.6 has the B16a, the same as the Si but I think the euro spec is B16a3, but I cant remember it.
The 1.8VTi only came in a 5 door, or Aerodeck form, a look that was only made for Europe, as being more appealing as a family wagon or sedan. It has the same B18C engine as in the USDM Integra GSR.

its more than obvious what he's trying to get at guys, back off.i mean jeez at least he's trying to write in our language.how many of you would attempt to write icelandic?
beleive me, reading from him at local chat boards, it“s just as confusing

it did, but there is no such car here in Iceland, it was only available as a special order, the VTi“s over here are mostly hatchbacks...

in fact, I used to own one

But as you know the production of the EK has been discontinued, we have the EP CTR though...
