Default Ef swaps.

I have a 91 si that I baught with a dohc zc in with everything else stock. I know those came with a d16a6 but it's almost impossible to find one. So is there any d series motors that I could just drop in with the stock si tranny and ecu that'll be legal? Cuz I know it needs to be 91 or newer and non vtec cuz they didn't come with vtec. Any help is much appreciated. Tank you.

Or you're in Cali? They are real strict there. Wish I could help but I'm in the same boat as you. Good luck

Yeah, cali smog rules suck. I almost had it passed but they failed me cuz the timing was a little off, then realized what motor it was.

sohc non vtec zc's are great i had one in my auto ed hatch loved it just didnt love the hb unfortunately, threads like this make me appreciate living where i do, virtually unlimited engine mods, it also makes me fearfull of california style inspections local gov is pretty fond of copying california
