97 accord tranny oil?!?

Default 97 accord tranny oil?!?

im turning on my car tomorrow with a new tranny im not sure how much oil is in it so i dont want to start the car with a empty tranny and i am woundering how much oil is to be put ina auto 97 accord tranny ? ik i can only measure it when the car is running...

Eight Quarts IIRC. You don't just dump them in all at once. Put in two or three, start the engine let it circulate, when the fluid begins to stablize, place the trans in each gear for a moment(braked) and then check again. BTW, did you dump a quart into the TC before you installed it? You do not want to run the TC dry.

i didnt dump a quart in it but there was quite a bit in it so i thought it was good plus wont oil go through from the tranny anyways...

As long as the TC has some in it thats fine. You never want to spin a TC dry it will self destruct and eat itself.
