1999 prelude with obd1 jdm h22 swap CEL code 6 problem
hey honda-tech,
i am just trying to help a friend out with his car problem.
background.
he bought a 1999 honda prelude with a jdm h22 swap and converted it to obd1 with a conversion harness. for some reason there is a obd2a engine harness on it instead of the original obd2b.
it is throwing a CEL code 6 which it is a ECT sensor problem.
i changed the original ECT sensor with a new one from autozone and it still throws the code.
i checked for voltage coming from the ECT sensor plug on the engine side and there is power.
i also checked for continuity from the ecu side red/white ECT wire to the engine side ECT plug and there is continuity.
i also checked the conversion harness for any loose wires but everything seems intact.
im running out of things to check for.
lastly i checked the ecu and it looks a little different from the regular obd1 chipped ecu's ive seen. ill post pics and if anyone could let me know if it looks out of the ordinary.
if anyone had similar problems and know how to solve it, any help will be greatly appreciated. i need to fix this problem asap so my friend can get it smog.
thank you.
