aftermarket 88-91 CRX tail lights
So far I've only seen two basic physical designs being sold for them. (Give or take the various colors/styles). The problem is, they're both ugly as sin. OEM tail lights (that are even close to decent shape) run $250 to $350 if you can find them.
Are there any alternatives out there? I'm wondering what others have done.

$250 to $350! No way, are you talking like passwordjdm prices or what?
I have picked up 4 sets over the years (No I will not sell them), but never paying more then $100 bucks a set.

Get a set of the black housing ones some red krylon make sure its krylon stained glass paint and some nightshades paint em as red as you can then black them out won't look oem but won't look as stupid as eBay crap..
As for the OEM prices, I think the supply and demand has shifted dramatically or or something. Most of the pieces I've found online below $100 have at the least small chips in them (or highly visible scratches). I've invested a lot of work into the ol' rex so far, so I'm fairly picky when it comes to the condition of the used parts I put on it.
I havent tried the nightshades on it but my dad had some chrome housing ones and we sprayed em red looked pretty good.. And I think the vht would make it look better and hide the lights better

I got really exited there for a moment, but I searched their site... no love for the rex.
That spray trick looks really good though! Hides the ugliness a lot. Luckily I live in Montana, this state doesn't have too many auto requirement laws, and the ones on the books are very rarely enforced.
