Default Opinion for my strut choice for sedan

I have a 93 civic sedand (Eg) ?? lol. Anyway...I did a little searching in the autox forum for these struts I found on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-New...mZ400194073355

The user from the old forum had tein springs on them and said they rode smooth and were perfect.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...struts&page=29

My goal is for a great handling car. I am finishing up my mini me build and I do alot of highway driving and would like to possibly in the future build the suspension for autox. But for now a drop is in order. If anyone has an opion on different struts in my price range lmk. And also springs in the same or less price range...so 160 or less.

Koni Yellows, Bilstein HD, or Tokico Illumina are some good shocks to look at. As for springs it all depends on what youre looking for. If you want it to handle, higher rates will work better, but the ride will be hard. You can also look at coil sleeves like Ground Control that work well with Konis, or you could get a coilover setup, but the price is higher for a good set, and its probably overkill on the street. I like Koni/Ground Control setup, tons of people have it, cant really go wrong. For the street 300lb springs are pretty soft, 400-550 is more ideal for handling, much higher then this gets into a pretty harsh ride.

Ok...just looked into koni yellows. Way above what I want to put into this car. The struts I looked at were about $175 and 1 member already gave goo feedback. Im looking for struts in the same range or more feedback about the lotek struts.

Just be careful bc if those shocks are designed for stock ride height they might blow if you drive them lowered. If you want the car to perform its going to cost money.

****UPDATE****Lotek Struts review****Ksport springs review*****
Finnaly got the struts and springs on. So far the ride is nice on the highway and even on most city roads in baltimore! Only bad or con comes at bumps....the rear springs have alot of coils at the top and almost no space between them...im gonna research about cutting a coil or two off both rears. Over bumps it knocks really hard and im re using the stock strut mounts and never had problems from them before. On the plus side the ride is nice and solid and stiff feeling! I like it! lol. My sound system feels like it hits harder since the suspension and body is a lot stiffer. And my engine feels more responsive....as if I installed better mounts or something. I also will inform those reading that i already have upper front strut bar and rear lower bar installed. Well hope this helps...i'll update if I cut the rear springs....I matched them up before I put them on so I doubt i have them mismatched front to rear.....
Peace

Check your bump stops before you cut your springs.

Lol how would cutting a spring help keep it from bottoming out.......lol that just makes no sense to me at all and check your bump stops.... When you replaced your struts did you reuse the bump stops from your old oem set up if so did you trim your bump stops some on a lowered car it's necessary to trim them because of the decrease in suspension travel try that way before cutting a coil or two off of a spring that was engineered to work with your car

The thought is probably that it would add more "space" to the bottom coils. "They ride great but I have to cut the springs". Not a real solid product review if you ask me.
