Default Destroying my si

My 07 Si only has 36k and I dont drive it much. For example I put 2,400 miles on it in a yr. Any way when it sits for a month or so and I start it. Right on start it sounds like hell. Due to poor oil circulation from sitting I am guessing. Will this end up causing serious problem? And what is the best oil filter I can run for cold starts and get immediate circulation? I run mobile 1 of course

I would suggest the Honda A01 filter, and you should try to start it more often. Start it once a week, then see if it still runs poor at start up.

Mine sat all winter in a garage and still sounded normal when I started it.

when you do an oil change make sure the oil filter has a drain back valve. most oil filters have them. some cheaper brands dont. I know a lot of STP oil filters do not have a drain back valve. you can tell by looking at the filter. you will see a little rubber flap in the holes that surround the larger threaded hole. the drain back valve keeps oil from draining out of the oil passages, but it wont hold forever.

I don't start my S2000 or ITR for months while they're in winter storage. When spring comes around, I prime the engine by removing the EFI fuse and cranking the car for 10seconds at a time (with a 5sec break) until the oil light turns off.

Obviously that's hard on the starter so I only do it once a year.

If you're not storing yours and you drive it only randomly, you might start it once every week or so. You'll be causing a little damage either way, but...not as much as dry starting it after a few months.

Or....you could just drive it regularly?

With that mileage and year, you're still under warranty for that engine. Get it checked out!

Yea, you should start it atleast every couple of days and let it run for a bit.
