auto to 5spd swap
I found the swap method in the FAQ section but it had no pictures and I am not understanding a couple of things. I just got a 94 lx 4dr auto. I want to swap out the engine and tranny with a 95 ex 5 spd. I had assumed that it was just take out the engine, tranny, ecu, harness, and brake pedal and shift assembly. But appearantly the tranny bracket that holds the tranny mount is different? also I searched underneath my dash on both cars and on the 5spd car the clutch pedal has 2 connections on it, but I cannot find those connections hanging around in the auto car. do I need to swap out the entire harness behind the dash as well? I would llike to know this since I have a donor car to be ablt to take whatever it is I need out of it for the project. But at the same time if I have to do some fabricating with the tranny bracket it isnt worth it for me, I should just exchange it for a manual version. Please help with these questions if at all possible. thanks a lot.
man this site is driving me crazy. nobody responds unless its something that there doing. I thought this was supposed to be a forum for everyone to post problems solutions and to be able to get some help from fellow accord owners.
Yup, the bolt hole on the tranny bracket is in a different position between the AT and MT cars. IIRC the AT bracket has a pilot hole already drilled. You just need to open it up to the correct size with a stepped drill bit "Uni-Bit". You should be able to see this by looking at the mounts in both cars. Albeit the AT has a pilot hole to the left of the bolt, and the MT has a pilot hole to the right.
The two things get wired where. and the connectors for the automatic shifter have to be cut andwired up to other things and then supposedly wires need to be ran to the tranny for the reverse. I mean it seems like more than just those two connectors on the clutch pedal.
