Icon2 Hasport modified engine harness

I have a 91 std hatch & the plan is to swap in a b18a1 from my 91 integra rs donor car. I know I will have to convert the civic to mpfi for the swap to work properly. It seems to be pretty straight forward wiring. My question is regarding a used Hasport modified engine harness for my car with a b18a1 swap that I found locally for $180. Is it worth the added expense? Or since I have both cars, in there entirety, should I just convert the harness myself? I have been working on hondas for a long time, & have replaced motors. I just haven't ever had to change wiring because it was always the same or similar motors.

Also, the guy I bought the integra from told me that I would be able to just swap the motor & use the teg harness in the civic. He is a honda technician. However I believe he is wrong. Any input on this?

Honda technician my ***. Shows certification doesn't mean **** because he is wrong. You're gonna need to do some wiring and since you have both harnesses it will be fairly easy if you can grasp the how tos. You only need to run 4 wires to the ecu 2 for injectors and 2 for the extra sensor in the dizzy. Gl

Mod it yourself and every time you see that guy you bought the Integra from just turn around and start running as fast as you possibly can. Don't let him near your car.

Cool... I appreciate your feedback. I actually just got off the phone with Hasport & they told me if I send them my harness', they would mod them & send it back for under $200. So even if I don't wanna mess with the wiring myself. I will go that route rather than worry about a second hand harness that I may have problems with down the road.

As far as the honda tech. I bought the car from. For all I know he may have been just trying to sell the car & figured I didn't know the difference. Either way... He was wrong.

the guy u bought the teg from is partially correct... provided your car was an SI (litterally plug and play) but since its an STD u have to convert the car to MPFI to install the engine. (SI's come MPFI) with an SI u just use the SI harness on the B18, and unfortunatly i dont think the SI engine harness and the STD cabin harness are not compatible. so your gonna have to re wire it.

the so called honda-tech said the DA engine wiring harness would fit his STD hatch. not gonna happen. nor would it fit the SI

Lol so the technician isn't the only idiot. You also fail because the Teg has different connectors then that of the civic.

really? so please explain to me how i used my STOCK SI engine harness on my B18a1 and it started first try and has ran perfect ever since?

because what you are telling me is that i have imagined driving my car for the past year
because waht your saying is it couldn't have possibly been done...

i know my first post was a little hard to understand so let me clarify what i was saying...

IF its an SI you CAN use the SI ENGINE harness ON the B18A1. the SI harness IS NOT compatible with the STD CABIN HARNESS. you CAN NOT just get an SI harness and make it PLUG AND PLAY like the SI is. so in conclusion the guy with the teg is PARTIALLY correct.

Lol mr high horse relax. The technician was not correct in any sense and I understood what you said. You misunderstood what I said when I said Teg connectors are different I was talking about the harness not re motor. I know much more about wiring tan you think. You are not the only person in the world with a b18. I too have a b18 in my ex and am also using my stock harness.

As I said the tech was wrong because even iyou convert to mpfi you still can NOT use the Teg harness. He needs to use his stock dx harness and add on to it the injector and dizzy wiring.
