Default ECU Swap

I don't know much about tuning although ive done my fair share of work on Accords and Civics from '93-'99...

My question is about this:
I have an ECU out of an '98 Acura Integra Type-R. I put it in my '96 Civic EX and it made it run like a scalded ape! The person I got it from said they used to run the Type-R on a drag strip.
What I'm wanting to do is put this bad boy in my '95 Accord EX...

How can I acheive this goal? I know I will need some sort of adapter...

Thanks for the help!!!

If it did work you would have to upgrade your accord to OBDII, the F series isnt related to the B series like the D series is one of those differences is the F series is almost half a liter bigger than the B, not .2 liter meaning uses diffrent amounts of fuel, they have completely different base maps and doesnt that year type R ecu have a immobilizer

youll be better off getting a tune-able ecu and starting from there since your already obd I

F series is not a B series like wolfy said. The motor and transmission gearing have a lot more to do with acceleration than the ECU does......You also have a OBDII ECU (not tunable without a piggy back or solid reflash) and an OBDI Accord, which won't work.

If you actually want to speed the Accord up - H23 or H22 transmission.

Short of modifying the motor yourself that's the only way you'll gain acceleration. Then after doing some mods get a chipped P28 and have the vehicle properly tuned.

*edit* I also have doubts on putting the ITR ECU on your Civic did much of anything but a placebo affect and dump unncessary fuel through the injectors.

All I know is that it made my Civic that only had intake and exaust, a JDM D15B, and that ECU do 147MPH before I let off on about a 2 mile strip of road. When the Vtec kicked in it felt like a shot of NOS...

I don't buy it. Wrong ECU = wrong basemap
Wrong basemap = wrong a/f mix and subsequently poor performance.

Why are you driving 147 mph on a public road?????? Go to a track if you have a death wish, don't put others at risk!

The VTEC engagement is much later on a P73 and that's why you felt the increase in acceleration at engagement.
