My friend took his turbo 00 Si (built motor, greddy turbo, stock head, 2.5" exhaust) out on i-27 (straight freshly paved road for miles with no streets connecting and barely no traffic) and got 148 mph on his friends GPS. He said the car was still pulling but running out of gear, he ended up getting scared and let off ahaha. Im not sure if the factory wing makes the car less stable at those speeds or not but he was saying that the *** end felt shifty which is understandable in a 2350 lb car. He wants to take the wing off, you think it would make any difference? Its just a wind catcher right now lol.

 

can the b16 tranny even go that high? car weighs 2350????? taking off the wing wont make it any more stable....my car seems stable on the few high speed runs that ive done...... but then again.im not turning when i did this..

Apparently it can go that high! The tranny is stock with an ACT 3 puck and xtreme pp. The car has mild weight reduction, its got stock rims, CF hood and some other parts missing. We got 2350 at the track with no driver.

Why would i get flamed? This was on a dead road and didnt endanger anyone but the driver and the guy holding the GPS I will get video soon...

youre gonna get flamed because driving fast is dangerous,stupid,etc . i like going fast on open roads, and so do lots of people, even though they might not admit it.

 

9400rpms in 5th gear on a stock gsr tranny, on 15" wheels. That's not my top-speed but a local car, that's notoriously fast. My friend was the passenger on the top speed fun. They still had 200rpm more to go before the limiter, but it was taking to long, the car was unstable, and 27lbs of boost in 5th gear for that long isn't the greatest idea.

This is all in a turbo Si, approxiamtely 470-510whp. They told me that it was close to 175-180mph. Can anyone do the math?

 

I feel so bad for that differential.......3 puck and an extreme PP.......good lord...My stock si diff broke with a act street clutch and street tires lol

 

Yeah im suprised he hasnt broken it yet. The car hardly ever sees hard launches though, its never seen the track with this new setup. I hope he doesnt blow the diff, im the one who would be fixing it.

Is that the blue Si from SFP? My friends Si is fast but its nowhere near 470whp. More like 280whp and im being generous. Im waiting on a hondata, bigger injectors and a wideband so i can tune it. Whats funny is the car isnt anywhere near its potential and its already got groupies lmao.

i have a stock gauge cluster in my turbo gsr civic...I took all the way back around to the "k" where it says Mph/kph below the zero. Estimated around 155, 160?

 

143 w/ 4 people in the car .....n/a on the way ton binghampton
and 142 solo w/ turbo one time (ran out of room)

where did you nutz get room to push to 150-160? and how did you have time to watch the needle? 150 is quick ...WATCH THE ROAD AND BE CAREFUL PEOPLE

 

The wing helps keep the *** planted at those speeds.

Me I have only had my car up to 120 maybee. The speedo only goes to 120. But my friends Saab 900. He hit 156 and still wasn't at redline! If he could pull to redline he would be doing about 175-180. But he doesn't the power to do it.

 

900+ mph (Boeing) on my way to Cancun, Mexico... man the wind was horrible!

 

i redlined 5th gear against a corvette on the 101 in phx.. realy hit it quickly. Btw, thats was about 146mph according to my gearing/tire size calculations. Definitely coulda gone farther.

 

i was just saying...some people might not like that. i like to do the occational top speed bomb down the highway(at night) ive gotten up to 146 MPH downhill(i forgot it could go that hight)in my Si(with intake and exhaust) and you know what. the car was damn stable..wasnt wondering or anything! i was impressed! (i let up cause my brain didnt have nice thoughts)On straight land ive hit about 135-140 mph once or twice. I hit about 130 quite a bit(At night while getting on the highway at this certain point) the car moves pretty quick till then..after 130 it takes quite a bit to get up higher(unless going downhill )
Ive been 190 MPH+ in my neighbours 96 Porsche Carrera(modded for track use..he is a porsche club of america instructor). I was a passenger..I think I **** myself 3 or 4 times it was crazy fast. Nothing like flying in a sweet porsche at 6500 rpm

Indicated ~150 on my Turbo LS a couple months ago. Now I'll be lucky if it hits 100mph.

Indicated 167 on my Gixxer 750, but I got scared and slowed down. It would have gone a lot faster very easily.

 

clocked by a buddy w/ my radar gun going 174 mph on a TL1000, indicated 192 on the speedo....dont trust your speedo over 100 on ur gixxer LOL.

 

I know that....but it felt damn fast....and it was damn scary.
