Default Back-up fuse blows

95 4dr lx. I asked later for the fuse panel diagram but forget that guys. Found the problem. I found the back up light fuse blown. When I replaced it with another and started the car the fuse blew again. What can be causing this problem by any chance?

I thought the back-up light fuse idnt really have to only do with the back up light but with other things as well?

Just so you guy's know the "back up" fuse is NOT for the lights, It is a constant power fuse which holds your radio memory and numerous other functions

Found the problem guys. As stated before the back-up light fuse kept blowing. I was told to check the reverse light circuitry but couldnt find anything. So I purposely put in aout 2 or 3 more fuses to cause a short so that maybe I can see it. As i suspected I finally saw smoke. The fuse blew and smelt the smoke and started looking for it all over the car. Finally I noticed the hood smoking and poped it to find a small flame under the hood. Turns out the VSS caughtg onn fire. Thats where the short was. I did not know that was connected to the fuse until I read the manual and found VSS to fuse slot 1. Go figure, my luck. Luckily I had another VSS sitting around so was able to swap it out, cut the wire back and reconnect it to a good section and put a new fuse in. Eureka it finally works. Everything, reverse lights, power windows, gauges, shifter (auto).

If a fuse keeps blowing then somewhere after the fuse the power wire is making direct contact with ground-hence the high current draw.

I would start with the radio power wire...perhaps it came out of the connector that goes to the radio and is touching ground now.

I tried looking for a short and I can't find anything. But it's weird though cuz it blows even without a radio
