Default Performance Friction Brake Pads

Installed these on my 98 EX the other day. They're pure awesome. Good stopping power on hot and cold pads. There's some brake dust, but that outweighs the braking benefits. I bedded them in, also. It's only been about 80 miles and I'll add to the review as time goes on, but so far I've got to say that I'm very pleased. FYI, I bought them from amazon.com for $39 and now they've reduced to about $36. They retail for about $55-60.

That's a great price. I've been thinking of switching to a more performance type pad. I'm tired of crappy pads from chain auto part stores.

I'm running Akeebonos now. Might give those a shot the next time I do the brakes.

yeah i'm done buying from chain stores. i was buying and selling so much stuff on amazon and half.com that I decided to look for a bunch of other things. i've bought air filters, NGK spark plug wires, Gates timing kits, and now quality brake pads. I'm glad to know that these pads actually came equipped on my cousin's 911 996 and he likes them, too.

They grab like nobody's business, with no fade and minimal brake dust.

On blank rotors? If mine weren't still okay I might have bought some brembo blanks.

I run drilled and slotted on my coupe. My wife has the stock blanks on her hatch. Excellent performance from both.

I should have bought the akebono pads. I'm comparing mine to stock pads and its a big difference but I have a feeling the Akes have better stopping power.

Performance is the brand? I just got some new Hawk HPS pads and Brembo blanks and I'm a bit underwhelmed.

You should see my wife when she brakes at the lat minute. Stops on a dime.
