Is it just me or is there a lot h22 swaps lately..
heh, I remember when this was still considered a holy grail and only the chosen few had swaps done. Now on just about every other thread I see the mighty beast being mentioned.

Indeed you are right.....only thing that cracks me up is how many people who say that they are so easy to do and when i posted this i counted 7 of the 25 threads on my acreen had to do with H22 civic problems. It seems liek yours is doing well, but I just have to laugh at newbie people who get tricked into doing this swap, because of the so-called ease and cheapness of the motor only to end up not knowing what they are doing. Despite all the kist out there, it is still a tough swap. The holy grail is not for al, but as you said, only the chosen few.

didn't SPORT COMPACT CAR do an extensive write up on this swap about a year ago? i saw where you had to do a bit of cutting and i said no thanks..
SCC magazine did that article with the HASport kit, and from my personal experience swapping in H22 motors, that article is about 3/4 full of info... there's still a few things that can be said when swapping in a H22 swap (I need to read it and then I can say what it's forgetting).
Also, with the HASport mount kit, it requires you to hack off the passenger side mount from the frame rail. With the HCP kit, you leave that on there, not cutting it off but just redrilling the hole for the bolt to go through (but it's still there so you can swap in a B-series motor if you want to - we did that a few weeks ago for somebody who blew up their H22 motor - retard driving) so that's another thing to consider.

i myself understand this will be a hard swap, thats why i went this route. i was aware of the cost and difficulty, more in for the challange!

I hear that. I saw h22 posts left and right and saying wtf?? everying asking questions left and right and such.

The funny things is. I dont think most people are swapping they just keep asking the same questions over and over again. Now dont get me wrong even I was the same way at first because I already had the engine and I was in the process of doing everything. But half these people dont even have a motor yet.

i've sent diagrams to people who were 'thinking' about doin the swap, and kinda had a
face goin on. I don't mind sendin 'em out, and researching as well, but was intended for those who are about to do it so they do the swap right ;xBut i hear that

I don't think people are much into it for the challenge, if they wanted a challenge they wouldn't be using guides. I think it is everyone's want for more power and torque, how often are you going to look under the hood of a civic/integra only to view an H22, not very. People also want to be the fast, who wants the doubt of putting money into a new swap then going out and losing at the track/street/strip.
I am going to be selling my H22 accord and getting an EG civic to throw an H22 in there
so I will be another h22 civic
The accord is just too damn heavy!

I hear you loud. And you have a sweet 5th gen too. But Accords even with lude engines would need alot to remain competitive, even as more faster cars are coming along the way with an average of 250 in stock trim..
lol My biggest fear is to see some granny pull up in her V6 Altima and zoom past me playing her classical Bach music.. hehe
Seriously though, like I told many before they started and will tell many more as they come. This particular swap is not easy in any way and should not be considered a drop it. Can you do it yourself? Yes, but it will take a lot of time and money to get it setup right..
