I have taken the rubber intake arm off along with all the bits and pieces from the mugen intake.

I am having difficulty removing the airbox because the lower snorkel is getting caught below due to limited clearance. Any helpful tips?

 

Get inside the inner fender lliner and unwrap the tape from the snorkel to the swiveling horn shaped piece. When you have the bottom horn piece out, go back to the engine bay. Undo the 10mm bolts. Then gently twist the big piece out. It will be a tight fit.

 

Ya just the big piece is giving me ****. I've tried shifting my radiator fan over to the side to allow more twist clearance, but no luck still.

I have little pieces of fiber stuck in my arm from the hour of hell it has given me.
I remember I had to twist the piece in for the install. For the life of me i've twisted in every which direction and cannot seem to jiggle this loose.

Which direction should I be twisting?

 

Found it a lot easier removing the intake that the installation.

Just keep feeling what, and where its hitting and move whatever you need out of the way.
Try moving the box portion to the distributor and turning the whole thing on its side.

Do you have your front bumper off?

 

Its in multiple directions. Just be gentle and take the path of least resistance. You'll get it.

I hope not. There is no need for a bumper removal.
