Default H23a1 Block Question.

Hey guys, Pulling my motor on my prelude to start building and have a questions, I was originally going to go with a .30 over bore. But, http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/wiseco/apps-Honda.html That website is Wiseco pistons. Anyways, For the H23 they are saying std bore, .40 over, or .80 over.. then I got to thinking why not? Is it even possible to go .80 on the H23a1 block? Yes I know sleeves with be needed. I just want to know if anyone has done it, or if its possible.

And it has a p13 H22 vtec head on it.

Unless you're sleeved none of those will work for you

Yeah, those forged pistons and FRM sleeves will not play nice with each other

That's why I put that in the OP. Maybe I should have put it in bold or bigger font.

Douh, I can't read sry, yes you can bore an h23 .080 over with the right sleeves, that ends up being 89mm total (2.4L FTW). Watch out those wiseco pistons are the same ones they list for the h22, which means the compression height will be higher than it "should" be. I guess if you're going turbo its fine, but high comp. N/A puts the pistons too far out of the hole. And you would probably have to run a thicker head gasket, as per the wiseco site.

Since they make 89mm pistons then it can be done. I don't know how thick the sleeves are, so you'll want to double check with the manufacturer that it's safe to bore them out that much. Also you'll need to find an 89.5mm head gasket
