Default alloy rear lca - benefits and problems

looking for more info on lca for the rear

i have done a search and i have gathered that:
-they are shorter than standard lca which means wider and more negative offset wheels
-bushings are **** house which means they need to be changed to polys

is this true?

also, how strong are they?prone to breaking?
im not looking at function 7, more like omni/blox/etc branded style ones

thanks

The LCAs should be the same size as OEM, or it wouldn't reach the subframe

Strength you are referring to I assume is the bushing in the control arm. I have been running Blox for ~2 years and have had to the replace the bushings twice already and I was planning on doing it again. They are junk. I will be trashing my set (unless someone wants them) and buying Skunk2's with the poly in them.

yea i was reading that it brought the wheel more inside the well so you could run lower offsets n wider wheels lol
guess not

isnt it possible to push poly bushes in the blox lca?
i only ask this coz if there havent been any actual lca breakages, i might buy cheap ones with adjustable swaybar mounts and then replace the bushes with poly bushes
i have a feeling that they dont use oem honda sizing tho which would mean that i cant use poly bush kit

I've never seen adjustable swaybar mounts on an LCA. Got a link?

I see a choice of mounting locations but not anything that's adjustable. Anyway. As was posted on an old thread; OEM is best. The rest is for show. Blox seem to be 50/50. Anything less than F7 or S2 isn't really worth it.

Save your money and buy the Function7 control arms. You'll be much happier in the long run. Lifetime warranty, better product, easy bushing replacement.

These forums have seen hundreds of torn bushing LCA threads for blox, skunk2, etc LCAs

My friend is selling me used Skunk2 lower rear control arms for $50. Are you saying its not worth it since the bushings will rip again?

There newest bushings are supposed to be alot better then the last ones. However I have heard the weren't but then again, the people saying they suck are well known to bash skunk2.

I personaly wouldn't bother. OEM/Function7 or noithing.

OEM and Function7 are the only LCA's worth 2 nickels. Use one or the other, anything else is pointless.

To those that think otherwise, there ARE some LCAs that are shorter in length to compensate for WIDER rear wheels:

http://www.spcalignment.com/PROD_DIR...d2=69100&cmd3=

If the aftermarket bushings are crap, then why even bother buying the arm? Get a good quality arm like Function 7 and don't deal with the bullshit. If people stopped buying shitty products and supporting companies that roll out ****, they wouldn't bother bringing that to market.

Buying **** begets more ****.

then theres no point in wasting your money for inferior parts and far worse than OEM.

the bushings on all of those are horrible. only function 7 has a well designed bushing that properly addresses the issues of a poly bushing. and the ones that use an oem looking rubber bushing are worse.

and if anyone says anything about "lightweight" or "unsprung mass", youre full of it if you think that matters.

Why did you order the beaks? I guess it looks cool. More stuff for people to see under your car.
