Default 2007 SI Cooling fan Cycles

Hey guys quick question for anyone that has a new body style SI. Wife just got one and the fan seems like it cycles off and on a LOT. After you first start the car it kicks on after a few mins and kicks on steadily about every 3-4 mins and runs for about 10 seconds whenever its idling. Its been freezing *** cold and the fan starts kicking on way before the car is warmed up. Also the ac or defroster are both off, is this normal? My old civic only kicks on the fan when the ac's on or if it idles a LOT.

Are you sure the A/C isn't kicking on? The A/C will still come on even if the temp is on full Heat, if you have Floor, or Defrost selected the A/C will engage without the A/C light being on. There is away to not make the A/C turn on unless you press the A/C button however i've noticed if you live in a place with high humidity the windows will fog up rather quickly.

Try just leaving the HVAC fan off and see if you notice the fan coming on then.

I think there is about 5 degrees seperating the on and off of the fan. So with that small a gap, it could kick on and off a lot.

Hmm well I know its not on the defrost but it might be on floor and defrost, I figured it was the same as the older body styles like mine, when you turn on the straight defrost, it kicks the ac on the light comes on and you could manually turn it off so it doesn't run, i'll have to try to turning the hvac all the way off and seeing if it still does it..
