Icon2 Warranty worries =(

ok, i may sound like a lost dummy but i just bought a 07 Si like 7 months ago, i only put an exhaust and a short ram on it. Now my question is, is it still covered by the warranty? i heard people say that sometimes when u add aftermarket things to the engine it voids the warranty. i have no clue if thats true or not =(

technically, no it doesn't void the warranty, there are some court cases that back this too. However it's really at the discretion of Honda, if they decide your part affects the way the engine runs they can definitely not cover something under warranty. Judging from peoples experiences on these forums and others, they get knocked for having an intake almost all the time. I'd put that back to stock if you ever take it in for work.

if you can hold out till end of Warranty might be the best idea. You just never know when you may need to use it, then get denied because you wanted another 3-4 HP. Just not worth it imo, the Si is plenty fast stock.

I'm already in the process of taking American Honda to court on this very matter. They can't just "decide" that something causes a failure. They need to be able to link that aftermarket part to the failure of what you're trying to get covered.

If that were true they could easily just say that using anything other than Honda oil or putting in a K&N filter will also void your warranty since it is not a "Honda" product.
