Broken 89 Civic SI Seat pan - what will interchange?
My stock 89 Civic SI Seat pan has broken badly. The previous owner made it worse with a few attempts at welding with the heat set up too high. So my best bet is finding another pan. I have searched for the replacement info and it depends on who's post you read. I read 88-89 are the same, I read only 89, then I found one that said all 89-91. I'm not sure if four door seat pans are the same as the hatches?
The only thing they seem to agree on is that CRX will not interchange with Civic. Has anyone actually replaced a seat broken pan in a 89 HB and if so what was the donor?

From what I have read, 88-89 civic pans are the same. Crx will not work and neither will 90-91. Snag some scrap dx seats from a junk yard and you should be good.
all the sedan seat pans are the same, from 88-91.
im not totally sure on the hatch's, but im assuming they are.
do not use crx or wagon ones, all the rail mounts will be off.

How was it broken in the 1st place? Jus curious lol. U will need 88-89 seat pan. 90-91 are different. And if u have a hatch it can only fit a hatch and sedan I believe. But for sure u can't use a crx pan
i know for a fact that the 88-89 sedan seat pans are the same as 90-91's. im pretty sure the hatch's are the same as well, id have to check at a yard to confirm that though.
The rails are wider on 90-91's and don't try to argue this with me because this has been a long time know fact. Search seat pan swap for 88-89/90-91
crx rails are also different and won't bolt into a hatch. 88 crx is one year, 89 crx is another, 90-91 crx is different too.

Research before posting wrong info. The original poster needs to get 88-89 civic pans ONLY!!! if he ever wants to bolt them back into his car.
This should be easy to find because the 88-89 seats wear out more than the 90-91 therefore a lot more junk seats at the yards
You are 100% wrong. 88-89 had different rails. That is why the jdm seats only bolt into 88-89 hb's

im guessing the pan on the civic si seat is different than the dx model hatchs, and the sedans though..

the pans for the 88-89 civic dx/std/si hb use the same lower pan. The Si has a different upper but since the pans are the same it bolts up for the correct year
Hopefully this can help to illustrate for the 88-89 hb, one pan two cusions
