Cable to hydro tranny mounting question.
So i have a 91 civic dx hatch. With a HF tranny that's cable. I was wondering(because i heard) that the mounting holes doesn't match up from a cable to hydro tranny inside the engine bay. So how did y'all get around this?or was i told bad info? and what dose it require for m to switch all my cable stuff to hydro w/o buying the bracket from hasport?
thanks all!
thanks all!
Yes, the bolt holes for the mount on trans cases are different on B-series cable vs. hydraulic, and on D-series cable vs. hydraulic.
What exactly are you trying to do?
What exactly are you trying to do?
yeaaa wtf are you doing to the car exactly?? trying to use a hydro d trans? if you got the hf cable trans whats the prob? hydro vs cable trans mount does differ. cable trans mount will not bolt to a hydro trans and vice versa. they both attach to the chassis pocket mount the same tho. with a swap mount of course,

Basically use a hydro trans to replace my cable HF one. Just wanna get a tranny with shorter gears. But i was asking the question if it mounts the same way as the cable one(of course with a different tranny mount as the holes do not match up) in the chassis pocket mount(or left mount if you're looking at the engine from the front)?
I'm staying D-Series too.

Alrighty then. Well, what do I have to go about to get all the nesscessary stuff to change my whole system to hydro? Like, lines, pedal, etc.?
I dont know exactly what i need, also i don't wanna sell my arm to fund this. Is it just better money wise and complexity wise just to buy the mount(And the cable to hydro kit) from Hasport?
Any opnions on that kit?

our EFDHC kit works with your existing clutch cable
no need to change pedal assemblys or anything of that nature
with the EFDHC kit the hydro trans you will use your existing mounts and it comes with the necessary parts to bolt into your car
one of the guys that works here runs a hydro trans on his HF
you can call and talk to him 602 470 0065

that mechanical conversion arm has a very awkward and funny release to it. i had it on my ef b16 swap using a hydro gsr trans, adjusted it a million times and it just never felt right. also have the hasport unit that uses the cable to actuate the clutch master cylinder. thats just collecting dust in my garage. i swapped it out for an ls cable trans

what we have found is this
the lever assembly works well with a stock clutch setup
people that have stage 8 million clutches not so well hence the reason for the CMA
now there are other variables as well such as aftermarket clutch cables and sometimes the lever assembly needs to be spaced out
we recommend using a factory honda clutch cable and factory style clutch with the lever assembly
then if using a higher than factory clutch we recommend using the CMA
there are 2 sides to the camp on this. for some the lever assembly works well and others they dont

Also, if i'm really going to do this kit, i don't have a lot of people here with pictures with it in the car nor opinions of it. And what will i do if i break my pedal over and over and achieve a non-moving car? I'll be screwed lol
if your theory is that because my clutch is not factory and thats why pedal feel is less than pleasant then i guess i can see your side. i have a stage 3 act clutch. but i dont know anyone whos done a swap and used a stock clutch in their build
I have no idea why people think they need aggressive on/off clutches for street-driven N/A builds. All they do is make it hard to drive and break drivetrain parts.
But see I don't have an arm and a leg to give y'all. And I definately don't want to break stuff on my car just because i was naive to listen to people about this kit. I just want to know what do i need for thre hydro tranny to fit in the chassis pocket mount and converting my system to hydro?
Hasport offers the D-series conversion kit alone for $250, or you could get the master cylinder adapter for $100 but you'll need to buy additional parts to use it (master, slave, line, etc.). With Innovative, apparently you have to buy either the master cylinder adapter for $250 (plus line & slave, but this does not come with a trans mount) or the entire $375 mount kit to get the necessary parts, and Avid offers nothing of the sort.
Thus, the Hasport EFDHC kit is the cheapest complete solution on the market.
If you don't want to pay the $250, then buy another cable trans ($250 or more) or fab something up on your own.

I did.

If you're broke and you don't have the means to fabricate, then you picked the wrong hobby.

Yeah, the only hard part is finding the cable trans that's not an HF... I guess i'll have to have some patience

Thank you all for the advice
