I have a Boosted B18, and i just blew the trans. whats a good replacement trans that would hold up better?

S80 transmissions have the best acceleration out of all of the manual trannys

 

well i should say the S80 out of the type-r's

 

how much can you spend

how much whp does your car have

what tires do you drive on

what type or racing are you doing?

need to know the above before we get into what will work

 

i can spend a decent amount but not to much. i have 290 hp , i have bridgestone 215 40 r17's, typically just ur everyday street race nothing track yet but hope to get there. Im looking for a trans also so if anyone has one let me know. i still have my stock trans but the diff blew out. i just took it apart and all the gears, forks, etc. look good. i filler gadged the syncros and there in spec.

 

if you aren't banging on it too crazy and only are on some variety of street tire the stock type r transmission would probably be your best bet. they have the strongest differentials of oem and are an lsd. it will also cost you quite a bit less than having m factory build you a custom box

by the way, when people reference tires, no one really cares what size they are, it's what tread compound they are that matters. the utqg tells a lot about how sticky the tire is
