Used DC2 ITR Suspension OR Tein H. Tech & KYB GR2's?
Okay,
OFFICIALLY back in the game and couldn't be happier!!! After a 3 weeks search I finally found my new project.
After blowing my ACL/MCL and fracturing my femur in a basketball accident I had to sell my baby ('96 RS) because I could no longer drive an M/T. 2 years later...I'm back in.
Today I purchased a 95 DB8 w/JDM front and '00 Rear bumper. The car is championship white, with a clean body. The downside??? She needs immediate suspension, wheels & tires (currently rocking 15" rears and 14" steelie front's)...but for $3200 I figured I couldn't go wrong either way. KLEEEN TYTUL
As Mentioned above I need a "quick fix" suspension that will last me for the next six months or so. I can't wait because the car has coilovers in the back and cut springs in the front (don't ask me what the hell the guy was doing). The current ride makes me vomit to be honest but the car has so much potential I couldn't let it go for the price I picked it up at. Now I need something to tide me over for a while.
At this point I'm deciding between USED JDM ITR Suspension/Lower Control arm and a spring/shock combo of H. Techs and KYB GR2's.
Which would you choose? Opinions greatly welcomed....especially if you chose "other." I'm working with $400 give or take $50 (Because of having to purchase wheels and tires)
Thanks BFF's

Done.
Now I personally would stay away from GR-2's or Tokico HP's (blue) for any sort of lowered suspension. I personally would tend more toward Koni STR.T's and spring of your choice. But you said only for 6 months so ITR suspension might be better if you can find it for under $400. What do you plan on doing 6 months from now?
Oh and, 2000 ITR rear bumper? ITR's never came in sedan form in the US, unless it's a JDM ITR sedan rear bumper which most likely is the same as the USDM 98-01 rear bumper.

Hey P,
First and foremost thanks for the move man, after I posted I was like "$hit...wrong forum possibly???"
Thats funny that you mention the str.t's because I've been looking into them but I couldn't find a reliable enough source to vouch for the setup, and both you and I know very well that everyone has very particular taste about how they want their "suspension" to handle... I'm thinking the str.t's and h.tech combo will be a good choice for me. I'm a little bit hesitant to purchase used suspension. That's such a sketchy concept to me.
6 months from now I'd like to do a Koni/GC setup but I'm hoping to buy a home to be honest (first things first) So I was just looking for something to get me around town.
P's and Q's all screwed up, total noob mistake. Its a USDM 98+ bumper for sure!

well crap, if you were still on stock suspension I'd say just wait until you can get the Koni/GC. But with the crap you're on now you need something better ASAP. Hell you could even find some used ITR springs alone for 100 and then just some cheap shocks like Monroes until you get something better.
^agree.
This car needs new suspension immediately. I purchased the car this weekend and won't even drive it, the front cut springs are so bad that I don't even have a 2-finger space between the front lip and ground.
I'll think about that advice, it may just be the way to go. Thanks again!!!

You can get brand new Gabriel shocks from AutoZone for under 200 bucks
There's also this, or you can post a WTB for just the springs https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...8#post44562648

Not too sure how relevant to teg's this is but I used to run H-tech's on my prelude and I was pretty disappointed about how it looked. While I lost a finger (maybe finger and half) of gap in the rear, I lost less than half a finger in the front. From most angles it looked like it had some sort of pre-runner suspension and it totally got rid of the raked stance of the car in general. It may do this with a teg but I'm not entirely sure.
As for struts, I have no experience with the gr2's but fwiw I'm extremely please with their agx's and would like to think that that satisfaction could easily be applied to their non-adjustable counterpart.
Just realized this thread is 2 months old lol. What did you end up going with?
