obd1 GSR swap into obd2a RS
I am buying an obd1 GSR b18c1 and am planning on rebuilding it and swapping it into my '96 RS obd2a teg.
Any huge problems im going to run into here? I know all the mounts are the same, I most likely will use my RS tranny because the GSR one with it is on its way out. The GSR comes with the ECU so Ive got that.
Any issues with using my obd2a harness on the obd1 b18c? Ill have to buy a obd2a to obd1 conversion harness to plug in the ECU.
Any help anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Ive been looking around on here for quite awhile, as well as on other teg forums, and google. Thanks for any help.

Yes you have to since the plugs are different. The alternator and injectors are an easy rewire. But not the distributor. The obd1 harness has two plugs for the dizzy. Obd2's only have one.
People have used the ls dizzy on the gsr but I would recommend the correct one.
And yes you can use your injectors and alternator off your ls.

Thats what I figured, thanks.
I guess im probably not gonna buy this motor anymore. It sounds like it'd be a little harder of a swap than I originally expected. Im probably just gonna find a obd2a b18c.

If he runs the obd2 harness then yes he will need an obd2 oil pump due to the CKF sensor located in the oil pump for obd2 motors. But if he runs an obd1 ecu then there is no need for it. If obd2 then yes you will need it or it will throw a CEL.
