My trunk/hatch/gate hits me on the head from time to time, I did a bit of searching but I couldn't find any info other then stock replacement stuff. Is there a company that make nicer struts that look a little better then the black stockers? Like the Tein hood support struts?

 

Buy the aftermarket one from your local autoparts store. They usually carry strongarm or stabilus. You can alway sand it down and repaint it. Then use heat gun to cure it.

i got a lil c clamp those struts are like 30a piece

 

or just go to the junk yard and get some from there

 

Replaced mine with ones from Advance. Amazing what a relief it is knowing you won't be knocked out by a falling hatch.

 

That's if you find a decent pair. Those things go out all the time. I've noticed that the ones on the CRX don't last nearly as long as the hatchback. Just buy a pair from Autozone or Advance.

 

I drilled a hole in the shaft and use a pin to hold up the hatch. Best part is that its free.
