Icon2 Took off the bumper and found this.

I bought this 95 civic dx coupe for $400 from a friend of a friend. I bought it knowing the hood didn't close and the bumper didn't fit, but thought maybe just something simple. So i get it home take off the bumper and this is what i find.

The hood may not close with the latch and the bumper may be somewhat off, but does it look dangerous? Nothing is cracked through just bent.

any advice is appreciated, sorry if the pictures are big its my first time posing pics.
thanks
mike

please press enter after first picture code to put it on next line... easier to read.

looks like a parking pole bump. that part is bolted onto the frame held by 4 bolts easy to remove and replace with new one.

my fault about the pictures. the piece above that bar where the hood latch comes through is pushed towards the firewall as well. the bumper screw holes dont line up either.

Looks like your radiator support is bent also, reasoning why the hood doesn't want to close correctly

i own a body shop and as stated above any of these methods would be fine . i actually have a frame machine but as long as you are careful all these methods would get the job done. i would say you got out pretty good thats about as easy to fix as it gets. it would take me 15 minutes tops to have that back were you could never tell it had been wrecked.

Listen to this guy... I have a shop also, couldnt have answered it better myself. As for your question about safety, Its still safe. The reinforcement is a little weaker now because the metal is stretched, but you will be ok. As said earlier, just replace it though. They are cheap, you can prob find one at a junk yard, and its only 4 bolts. 12mm I think, but dont quote me.
