Default HELP ASAP! swaped jdm gauge cluster, now speedo doesnt work

so i bought a used jdm gauge cluster, out of a honda orthia. exact same as civic, everything works except the speedometer, could this be because its kmph? and not mph? is there a way i can make it work? i put in my old cluster, and everything works fine. please help

the new cluster could possibly have a burnt ribbon, causing it to not function properly.

to my knowledge there is no way of fixing it, unless you source a new ribbon. check the back of the cluster, there should be flat bronze looking "ribbons", chech around where they connect into the back of the odomoeter/speedometer and see if they look as if they've been burnt or have some black discoloration around them.

No, if one of the connections is burnt / broken, there's no fixing it. It's like laying down copper on a circuit board. If the spedo is not working, the cluster is bad.

hey just an update, the cluster is fixed now, one of the ribbons had a cut through it, so i soldered a wire to the part where the harness goes, to the exposed wire, and connected the wire to the bolt where the circuit is transfered to the speedometer. works good as new! but thanks for the help, guess i didnt look at the cluster well enough before posting
