I need some help, I can't figure out what causing my del sol to cut off right after starting it up. A couple days ago, I woke up to go to work at 4 am. I got into my 1994 honda del sol. I turned it on. Its starts turning and the rpm went up. Then like 3 secs later it shuts off. There is gas in the car. The battery is fully charged. I check my distributer and all the cables are hook up.

 

Any CEL codes?

Is spark bright white at all four plugs?

Have you checked the mechanical timing?

Does starter fluid keep the engine running?

 

had this same problem with a ford escort i had a while back, it was the throttle position sensor, that should throw a CEL also

 

94's rarely throw a cel... did you check your timing belt?
