Default 2006 CBR turn signal problem

I recently redid the front turn signals. I bought the bike after the previous owner had done a hack job installing some low profile turn signals up front. They would pull off of the body if I ever got over 60mph and hang down like dissocketed eyeballs. I decided to try my hand at bondo to fill in the HUGE holes the guy had cut out(looked like a little kid had done it). The guy at autozone recommended using JB weld. I decided to try both. I got both holes filled, and the JB weld actually came out looking better.

But, now I have an issue with my front left turn signal. If I'm sitting still, the turn signal will work. If I'm cruising, it won't unless I use my right signal first. Once the left signal comes on, it won't work again until I use the right turn signal. I know it has nothing to do with the rear signals, but when I turn on the left signal, my rear left stays on...doesn't blink.

I've checked my wiring, and nothing looks wrong. Any ideas?

Switch on handlebar? Relay? Dbl check wiring with a meter, check for bad ground, etc....
If all else fails...use your arm
