AutoX recomendations on tire pressure of Kumho 712's?
94 RS Stock suspension, Type-R rear swaybar
16" Slipstreams with Kumho ESCTA 712's.
I ran my last event at fronts: 43 hot
rears: 37-38 hot
Anybody see anything I should change? I was getting the fronts to rollover a little over the little triangles on the fronts (someone told me that is where I should try and aim) and about 2mm away from the tirangles on the rears.
Any suggestions would be great. Can I run lower pressure in the fronts and the rears? I am scared to roll the tire off the wheel if I go lower. I'm new to the sport and just need some direction.
Thanks a bunch
Aaron

Well he listed the rims as 16 so we might assume the tires are 205/16s??? But when I was running them last year I had my 15s set at 46-47 front and about 38 in the rear. And once they start to squeal you've gone beyond their traction limit.
'95 RS
-2.25 degrees camber front
215/40/16 on 16x7"
H&R OE Sport springs
KYB AGX
ST swaybars f/r
45-46 front, 42-44 back. Variation for different courses/surfaces. I tended to get the fronts about halfway onto the triangles, the rears were a little away.

I used to run 39 all around with eibach sportlines/kyb agx/comptech swaybar on my si. Alignment was -1.5F/-1.3R camber with 0 toe front -1/32 toe in rear. I had no rolover issues wiht those pressures.
I ran 16x7.5" Kosei K1s with 215/40x16" Kumho 712s and with a pyrometer I found 42f/38r worked for me. 712s have a soft sidewall compared to my A520s and Azenis I have now. The A520s needed 39f/34r to work and Azenis need 38/31.

???? Yeah I read that he has Kumho 712s??? Yet I still don't get your point??? I'm on my second set of 712s and when you hear them squealing get ready for a nice push or spin. Do you think their range of traction improves when you hear them squealing???

my point is 712s squeal doing 5mph on an off ramp...their maximum traction point is long after they start to squeal.

Oh I never noticed that with my sets of Kumho untill pushed to the limit.
